2008-2010
20100413 : And so spring is finally here again! I never thought that the snow wold melt! Not much have been done over the winter. I had to panic change the coolant when the temp started to go down really low. Not a very plesantthing to do in a cold dark garage.. but it had to be done!

On my way home from the first meet with SSJ I stopped at A6 shoppingcenter.
Nice buildings and good lighting!

But with loooong shutterspeeds it's hard to stay still.
At least some of the pictures were ok.

I sould have my tripod in tha car...
And you know what, when I got home and opened the trunk... guess what I saw! My tripod! Probably been there since last summer... well... I can always go there again...
090807 : Here are some pictures from this summer. We have been using the car quite alot. No real problems.
I have been looking at how much fuel we are using... It is from 12.5 l/ 100km to 14 l / 100km. Not really that good. I'm quite sure that this can be much better.

We got a new set of Kumho tires as the old were really old! :)


I installed a set of innerfenders on my car. These were dealerinstalled in Sweden in 78. I found these when a friend of mine bought some Mazda parts.

090412 : When I took some photos of my headlight wiper motors for my friend from Japan I discovered some rust in a place I did not really like. I took the front fender of to study this more. The hole is not really nice but I took the decision to not do any ting more about it just now.
I took of the small amounts of rust and sprayed it with primer and paint. Then for some sticky rust protection.
Turned out pretty nice. I'll do the same on the other side later on.

090409: After enjoying the Rx5 for some time I realized that the sound system is not really up to my standards. I found a set of old Cerving Vega speakers in the garage. These have been used in my Rx7 before. Putting them in the rear was an easy fix! Now the big problem is the 70's stereo. This don't really have the output that I want.
I don't want to cut my stereo panel but I think a new stereo will be added. Today you are so used to be able to plug in your MP3 player. I'm not really sure where I going to hide it. I'll have to figure that out!
The sound was a little bit better with the new speakers, but not much... I want to be able to play my AC/DC loud!

   

090407 : First Monday meet with SSJ for 2009. Me and my son (Isak) went, Lena stayed home. Trying to keep up with Porsche's, M3's etc is not easy in the old girl! We lost them on the way... we took our own way to the goal for the evening.
090404 : Took the first family trip for 2009. As usual we went to Grenna for some ice cream. At home it was very warm but there it was really cold! Heating in the Rx5 ix excellent by the way!

090101 : At the first day of the new year the sun was out temperatur was -5c no snow... just perfect for a short drive inte the Rx5! It had not been running for a few months but started up quite easy. I noticed that the heat in the car is very good (I have not driven this car in these temperatures before). I stopped at a place where I have taken pitcures before but this time there were ice on the lake. People skating and the lighting was very good!

I should have brought more memorycards and batteries because nature could have givien me more great pictures, but this time it was the Rx5 that wanted to photograph. Enjoy!

080501: Today, I took my son Isak with me and drove the "Riksettan Rally". To make a long story short the rally takes place on parts of the road that once was the main road between Malmö and Stockholm.

We met up with the rally at the most nothern stop. Basicly we drove the old road to Värnamo where the whole citycenter had been shut of so that all the cars and bikes could park there.
175 cars was the plan for the organisers but there was well over 200!

080429: So after a long dark, but not very cold, winter the sun is finally here! The car has been sitting all winter and I have done nothing to it apart from ebayshopping some parts and catalogs. I now got new breakpads for the front and rear (not the handbreak, if you know where to get these let me know!). I also have a set of new calipers for the front and repairkit for the rear. A new upper radiatiorhose was my latest find.... but I have not had the time to do anything with these parts.


A few weeks ago I did however give it a quick wash!
And today a first longer testrun was made. When our son had gone to bed and my wife was planting here flower I started the car and backed it out of the garage.
A familiar cloud raised behind the car, the smell of oil was there. It has not repaired itself..
BUT I really don't care... with the nice note of the engine I put my seatbelt on, put it in drive and drove of.
I said to my wife that I'd be going for a short trip just to get it warm and see that everything worked.... as usual my perspective on time was way of...
An hour later I pulled up to our garage with that smile you have when you have taken that first spring drive!
